  • What student activity bugs you the most?
  • It’s a thing here (bottle flipping)
  • A pet hate of mine is….
  • When you’re already a bit grouchy and then they just start pissing about with their bottles

RnR Grammar

In today’s episode, I saw:

“Flipping bottles isn’t a thing here”

The word ‘thing’ is an EASY word, right? Well actually there are A LOT of meanings to it!

In this example, we basically mean ‘anything that is popular and recognised’, but it can ALSO be used to describe a couple that have just started dating, for example ‘did you know Mike and Julie are a thing?’

I know this isn’t grammar, but I didn’t have anything else to write and I thought this might be of interest to you! 😉
