  • People need to pull out their finger now
  • It’s a dry patch
  • It’s not worth an entire episode, but we can dabble
  • I had my first dip
  • Well just get your stuff nicked then
  • We touched upon it a bit
  • What kind of attire are you wearing
  • I feel very inadequate
  • You just blend in with the crowd
  • I cut my own hair for many a year
  • It’s not like me going over there and striking up a conversation
  • You can look and she’s none the wiser
  • Everyone’s a winner
  • There were about 4 or 5 blokes
  • I can just about put up with that
  • It doesn’t sit right with me

RnR Grammar

In today’s episode, we had a few real SEXY expressions such as “they need to pull their finger out” and “it just doesn’t sit right with me”, but the important thing to do if you want to understand these terms is to NOT look in a dictionary!

Expressions are used for SPECIFIC contexts! So listen to the context it was used it… and make sure you do likewise! BOOM!

Regards from Russia! I started listening Rock n’ roll English not so long ago, but my spoken English has been very much improved (although sometimes it still sounds ridiculous 😁). Also RnR English helped me on my TOEFL exam last month. And now I have B2 certificate 😊
I live in the special Kaliningrad region separated from the whole country by another countries. And also we are close to the Baltic sea. I tried to start working as a waiter near the sea coast, but my employer suddenly eliminated me after he promised me that I’ll work there. That day I was a little bit upset and inspired by the episode about alone beaching walked along the coast. I took my black shoes off and enjoyed the sea caressing my feet. I looked a little bit weird, because I was wearing black trousers and white blouse while others were wearing swimsuits. But I felt like I decided to drastically change my life and leave my dull office work for opening my own business and starting traveling around the world. I just enjoyed that atmosphere and didn’t feel shy of my weird alone walking. Thanks to your episode #156 and all others! ☺️
    P. S. About episode #153 about Russia: it’s not true, that beer is considered non-alcoholic 😀 People under 18 cannot buy it, and it’s true for a very long time. Some people just can drink more beer than wine or vodka, because it contains less alcohol. But everything further is true ☺️
    Best regards, keep rocking😎

Hi Olya! Thank you so much for this message, it made my day! Sorry about getting that thing about Russia wrong, it was the website’s fault! Anyway, keep on listening and keep on rockin’! 😉
