Episode 91 – When Nature Calls 🚽

People don’t speak about life on the toilet, but why not?❗ We destroy the rule book in today’s show and JUMP STRAIGHT IN AT THE DEEPEND 💦 (just one example of today’s RnR vocab)… there’s talk about PHANTOM pooers 😲, eating breakfast from very strange places 🥣, SAVING faces 😀 and so much RnR vocab it’s illegal! 🚫 Keep on listening and keep on ROCKing! 💣💣💣

The RnR vocab that you will learn in today’s show:

  • Still carrying that torch I see
  • Toilet etiquette
  • The toilet is a bit of a taboo subject
  • So we’re going to jump straight in at the deep end
  • You can get right down into the nitty gritty
  • If I’ve gone to a dark, dirty club, I might hover
  • Some places are pretty grim
  • When nature calls
  • My technique is to pad the toilet seat
  • There is a phantom pooer in the girl’s toilets at school
  • I had to tell them it was someone else just to save face
  • It’s so clean you can eat your breakfast off it
  • A tattoo on your arse cheek
  • He uses it as his special quiet time away from everyone nagging him
  • I will wee in front of my husband
  • My memory is a bit hazy
  • Clean your fingers for the mingers
  • It puts me off buying things
  • She’s still in nappies
  • It doesn’t half stink when she does go
  • Both my nieces are off the potty

RnR Grammar

Notice how Charlie said in today’s episode:

“There’s a phantom pooer in the girl’s toilet”

By the word ‘pooer’ she obviously means someone that poos, but this word doesn’t actually exist. HOWEVER…. it is a word (one of many) that is often invented by native speakers.

The message here is that if you’re not sure of a grammar rule, piece of vocabulary, just invent it and see what happens! You have nothing to lose except someone telling you “I don’t understand” (which is not the end of the world)… remember that the reason we speak languages is to communicate, so if you don’t do that accurately but you still communicate, then that is much better than stopping and not saying anything! 👊
