201 – How Old Do You Need To Be… 🔞

Did you know that REAL school in the UK starts at 4?! 😲 Did you also know that someone from the podcast stole some women’s underwear? 🩲 We also talk about the FACE of Essex 😗, some LIFE lessons 🏫 and how old you need to be to do the WILD THING 🤪! It’s a new era in RnR English, but not a lot has changed, so join us and just KEEP ON ROCKIN’, baby! 👊

The RnR Vocab you will learn in today’s pod:

  • A moody belly
  • That’s just a sign of your character flaws
  • You’ve kept your cards close to your chest on this one
  • It took my quite a while to grasp that
  • When I call her because I can’t be arsed to get up
  • When I was 5 or 6 I was built like a brick shithouse
  • There was a big stack of newspapers ready to be delivered
  • I stole a pair of knickers when I was 6 years’ old
  • I was probably going to give them to my nan
  • I wouldn’t have even wrapped them, just scrunched up
  • Not sure if that really deterred you
  • It took me many years to shake that off
  • We were doing anything to get served
  • I would have been buying beers left right and centre
  • You could give them extra money to buy the beers, a bribe
  • The thrill of being that age can never be replaced
  • Walking up to the bouncer
  • You still had to hold it together until you paid
  • Just reign it in
  • I hope you’re enlightened now
  • I’m always looking for loopholes

RnR Grammar

In today’s episode when I was talking about walking up the bouncer, I said “we’d been talking all night” which is some lovely past perfect continuous! We use this to emphasise the DURATION of an action, so in this case, I was emphasising that we had been speaking for a LONG TIME – BOOM-SHAKA-LAKA!
