207 – The Story of a RnR Wedding ๐Ÿ‘ฐ ๐Ÿ“–

After a long wait, Mrs RnR were FINALLY able to get married! ๐Ÿ˜… So here’s the story of what happened where we speak about to drink or not to drink on your wedding night ๐Ÿป, smelling of kebabs at the wedding ๐Ÿฅ™, things in eyes (no crying obviously)ย ๐Ÿ˜ญ and lots more! Too much to talk about in one episode, so there will be a Part 2 on Thursday (details are in the episode), so sit down, relax, get your headphones on and just keeeeeeeep on ROCKin’, baby!ย ๐Ÿ‘Š

The RnR Vocab you will learn in today’s pod:

  • We have a run through of the wedding
  • Iโ€™m all over the placeย ย ย ย
  • I havenโ€™t got it to hand
  • You have the photographer; you have the venue
  • Some people dropped out at the last minute
  • So you have to reshuffle the tables
  • Thatโ€™s when the nerves started kicking in
  • There was no turning back
  • I want to be on tip top form
  • I did a lot of tossing and turning
  • I did not sleep a wink
  • Youโ€™re a grouch if you havenโ€™t gotten your sleep
  • You have your groomsmen
  • We also had a page boy
  • I just nodded off for a bit
  • The make up would have smeared
  • She pulled it off
  • My hand is completely drenched
  • Then we got the vows
  • She just left me hanging
  • We got through the service
  • My shirt was soaked through
  • When we were posing for photos, we were looking at the photographer
  • Luckily she sorted it out

RnR Grammar

Notice that SS said today “you’re a grouch if you haven’t GOTTEN your sleep”…. many people ask me “is the past participle of ‘get’ ‘got’ or ‘gotten’, as I have seen both”

The answer is that they are BOTH correct! It’s just that in the UK, we use ‘got’ and in the US they use ‘gotten’, so don’t worry!

Hi Mr RnR, I really like your podcasts. learnt a lot!

just wondering here, when you say “we got to the vowels”, are you referring “vows” ? I try to google the term but doesn’t seem to match your content.

Hi Grace! Yes that was an error from me! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ As I always say… native speakers (even teachers) make mistakes, so learners shouldn’t be worried about them, as it’s totally normal! Anyway, thank you for letting me know! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi, for this sentence: we got the vowels, shouldn’t it be vows?

Hi Moon! Yes you’re right! Hi Grace! That was an error from me! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ As I always say… native speakers (even teachers) make mistakes, so learners shouldn’t be worried about them, as it’s totally normal! Anyway, thank you for letting me know! ๐Ÿ™‚
